Of the more than 100 registrants for the competition, Maignan took second place in the Type A (Van) competition, with Cherubin placing fifth in the Type D (Transit) competition. Chestnut Ridge Transportation is a member organization of The Trans Group, headquartered in Spring Valley, NY.

“Everyone at The Trans Group joins me in congratulating Chestnut Ridge Transportation drivers Yvenson and Joseph on their excellent performance at the statewide competition,” stated Trans Group President John Corr, Jr. “Our drivers and bus attendants are among the best in the industry and we encourage them whenever possible to participate in regional safety competitions. A big ‘thank you’ to Yvenson and Joseph for demonstrating their commitment to safety standards.” Sponsored by the New York School Bus Contractors Association, this year’s safety competition began with a comprehensive written exam on school bus safety followed by a driver’s test that gauged skills with a variety of hands-on activities, including vehicle inspections, loading and unloading students, operating a school bus through various driving courses, and managing railroad crossings.
