Bree Allen, regional leader of Ethan Allen Transportation, which serves the Kingston City School District, has been elected the next president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA), an organization comprising over 100 school transportation service companies across New York State. Allen has spent the last two years as the Association’s vice president and has been on the Board of Directors since 2005. She will serve as the Association’s president for the next two years.

Located in Kingston, New York, Ethan Allen Transportation is a member of The Trans Group family of bus operations. Trans Group Executive Vice President Tim Flood congratulated Allen on her new role as NYSBCA President.

“Bree’s family has been involved in the school bus industry for over half a century,” Flood observed. “She brings to the post an unparalleled depth of knowledge, skills, and insight in providing safe school transportation services. Everyone at The Trans Group joins me in congratulating her on this well-deserved honor. I’m confident Bree will have a positive impact on the entire New York State school transportation industry through her work as NYSBCA President.”

School transportation has been major part of Allen’s life since the day she was born. She grew up in the family business, Ethan Allen Enterprises, which was founded by her grandfather, Ethan, over 60-years ago. She is a graduate from North Carolina State, where she obtained a degree in political science. Allen went on to receive her law degree at Suffolk University in Boston and then, after spending several years practicing law in Boston, returned to the family business in 2004 and took on a leadership role within the company.

Under Allen’s leadership, Ethan Allen Transportation has been continually recognized for its commitment to the highest possible safety standards, its ongoing driver training and education programs, and has received numerous awards, including Ulster County School Bus Driver of the Year from the Mid-Hudson Transportation Supervisors Association.

Allen also sits on the National School Transportation Association’s Board of Directors and currently serves as the association’s Co-Chair of Government Relations.
